History

Our Mission is “to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens.”

Our Club’s history is rich with tradition, dedication and commitment!

In the mid-late 1960’s, a dedicated group of men and women provided a solid foundation for the Club’s inception. Through strong leadership, vision, fundraising and Watertown’s support, the dream became a reality in September 1972. The organization’s vision and leadership continued as we were one of the first Clubs in the country to include “Girls” in our name. The organization changed its name to Watertown Boys & Girls Club in January of 1980.

Over the past 40+ years, the Club has served hundreds of thousands of children through after-school programs and activities.

Today, the Club serves approximately 1,000 youth members throughout the year, and also provides activities and services to an additional 1,200 kids through cooperative programs with the Watertown Recreation Department, the Watertown Family Network, and other similar organizations.
